Social Buzz and InterActivity

InterActivity created quote a buzz in Saint Paul.

Check out local coverage in the Daily Planet and the Friday, May 7, Fox Morning News interview with Marilee Jennings, Executive Director of Children's Discovery Museum of San Jose and ACM Board Vice President of Programs.

Blogs

There are several ACM members who blogged during the conference, good news for you and for colleagues not able to attend.

Twitter
Tweeter was by far the most popular way participants shared their InterActivity 2010 reactions and thoughts! Check out ACM's twitter handle twitter.com/ChildMuseums. Tweeters used the hashtag #IA2010 to contribute and follow.

Flicker
The photos are beginning to flicker in to ACM's Flickr photo pool for InterActivity 2010.

Want to upload your photos? The easiest way to add a photo to a group is to go to the photos page and click the "Send to Group" button between the photo title and the photo. Then choose the group (InterActivity2010) you want to send it to.

facebook & LinkedIn

ACM is on facebook. The Children's Museum of Houston helped ACM create an InterActivity 2011 facebook page. Lots of ACM members have joined ACM's LinkedIn page and it make sense to post professional-oriented opportunities or messages here. We're thinking LinkedIn could be a great place to share session proposal and speaker ideas for InterActivity 2011, so join our network!

Rebates & Refunds

Take 5! Rebate
Member institutions sending five or more individuals (full-time and part-time staff members, interns, volunteers, board and trustee members) to InterActivity will receive a rebate totaling five percent of the institution’s total InterActivity registration fees. Surcharges, membership dues, pre- and postconference registration fees, tours and ticketed events are not included in calculating the total InterActivity registration fees. The rebate will be issued to the member institution as a check and mailed by June 30. Only full InterActivity registration fees paid by the institution count toward the Take 5! Rebate offer. An institution is not required to register its entire group at one time. An institution may register additional museum-sponsored individuals online through April 4 and on-site to qualify for the Take 5! Rebate. ACM’s InterActivity cancellation policy will apply to all Take 5! Registrations. A canceled registration that reduces the number of
individuals an institution sends to the full InterActivity conference to less than five will void the Take 5! Rebate.

Conference Cancellation Policy
As printed on page 30 of the InterActivity 2010 Preliminary Program, all cancellations must be made in writing to ACM and emailed to acm@ChildrensMuseums.org. ACM is not responsible for cancellations not received. Please contact ACM at 703-224-3100 to confirm receipt of your written cancellation. Any refunds, based on refund schedule below, will be issued following InterActivity and prior to June 30, 2010

Cancelation Refund Schedule

  • Before Feb 15: full refund, less $75 fee.

  • Between Feb 15-Mar 25: 50 percent refund.

  • Between March 26-April 4: 25 percent refund.

  • After April 4: ACM will not issue a refund.
