Collective Vision Toolkit Authors

The Online Toolkit was developed and written by John Noonan, Jeanne Vergeront and Mary Maher.

Noonan has co-chaired several Emerging Museum pre-conferences for the Association of Children’s Museums. He brings a strong business and legal background to his role as executive director of the Great Lakes Children’s Museum (Traverse City, MI) and now graciously shares the contents of his “Children’s Museum Online Toolbox” with this project.

Vergeront helped to found Madison Children’s Museum (WI) and served as vice president of exhibits and education at Minnesota Children’s Museums (St. Paul) for 10 years. As a museum planning consultant, she now works with museums across the country on all levels of the planning process—from sharpening the glimmer of the start-up idea to getting the doors open to managing change as museums continue to refine and grow their organizations.

Mary Maher was the editor and designer of Collective Vision: Starting and Sustaining a Children’s Museum, Capturing the Vision, and currently edits and designs Hand to Hand, a quarterly publication of the Association of Children’s Museums.

This project was made possible by a generous contribution from an ACM member and longtime friend of startups.
