The MetLife Foundation & ACM Replication Award is one of the highest forms of recognition for a children's museum. The award acknowledges a museum has an exhibit, program or management practice that is novel, effective and mission-building and that it should be replicated to advance the children's museum field.
In the 2012 Replication Award competition, one children's museum will recieve a restricted granted of $10,000 to create a promising practice replication Web-based toolkit. The recipient will be recognized during the InterActivity 2012 opening plenary session, elevated as a leader in the children's museum field at the Promising Practice Replication session at InterActivity 2013 and promoted through ACM press outreach and their toolkit will be a linked as a featured toolkit on the ACM Web site.

Eligibility

The award competition is open to prior award recipients of the Promising Practice Award (U.S. and International museums).

The museum must be a current ACM member.

Applicants must plan for and deliver a Web-based tool-kit based on the award-winning practice, which must still be current or ongoing.

Applicant must agree to complete the toolkit must within 11 months of recieving the award (April 2013).

Applicant agrees to recognize that MetLife Foundation and/or MetLife Foundation & ACM Replication Award Program as the sole sponsor for the creation of online replication toolkit. (Other sponsors and partners may be recognized on elsewhere for their support of the museum-based practice, exhibit or program).

The applicant agrees, if selected for an award, that a representative from the museum will accept its Replication Award in person at InterActivity 2012 (May 10-12, 2012) in Portland, Oregon. The applicant understands all InterActivity registration and travel expenses and arrangements are entirely the responsibility of the museum.

The applicant agrees, if selected, that a museum representative will lead a Replication Toolkit Training Session at InterActivity 2013 (April 30-May 2, 2013) in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Again, the applicant understands all InterActivity registration and travel expenses and arrangements are entirely the responsibility of the museum. (Museums may choose to use a portion of the restricted cash award to pay for said expenses.)
