Survey Information

Link to 2008 Museum Member's Survey

Every two years, ACM collects a massive amount of data on its museum members. The purpose of this data collection is manifold:

  • Informs ACM's conversations with local and national media to increase awarenesss and recognition for museums
  • Provides continuity to the body of historical information ACM maintains about the children's museum field
  • Serves as a daily reference and advocacy tool for children's museum professionals, corporations, foundations, federal agencies and beyond

All ACM museum members are asked to add their data to this growing body of important and unique information.

The data collected will be compiled into a print directory that will be mailed to all ACM members in Spring 2008, and will be available to ACM member via data queries. Learn more about this member benefit and how to request a query.

What is the best way to complete the online survey?

ACM recommends filling out a hard copy of the survey first. Circulate the hard copy by sections to appropriate staff to help collect information. Designate one person to enter the all the completed answers into the online survey.

The online survey is hosted by SurveyMonkey.com and its technology does not allow you to save your work in increments. You must complete the survey within one sitting.

However, you can take as long as you need to complete the online survey without risk of loosing a connection. As long as you maintain the connection to the survey, you will remain connected to the survey.

Definitions provided for your reference while completing questions in Section 2: Museum Finances.
