Scholarship Description: Each scholarship
will provide a complimentary full registration to InterActivity,
April 28-30, 2009, in Philadelphia, evening event tickets and accommodations
at the official InterActivity hotel as well as networking and service
opportunities at the conference. The goals of the scholarship program
are to encourage retention and professional development of museum
staff with a minority ethnic background.
Applicant Eligibility: Individuals with
an minority ethnic background that have been employed for at least
one year at an international or U.S. ACM member children's museum
that is in good standing are eligible for a travel scholarship.
Ideal applicants have not attended InterActivity within the last
two years and are interested in helping to expand the diversity
of museum audiences.
Additional Requirements: ACM reserves the
right to assign scholarship awardees roommates at the conference
hotel. The applicant understands that all travel, food, special
event and tour expenses related to InterActivity are not provided
by ACM. These financial expenses are the sole responsibility of
the applicant and/or the applicant's museum employer. Applicant
supervisors should clearly understand and endorse the financial
and time commitments that come with the scholarship.
Application Process: Applicants must complete
the online application in one sitting; ACM recommends that applicants
prepare their answers for the essay questions ahead of time. ACM
will send a confirmation email once your application has been submitted.
