U.S. Children's museums and their
library partners are eligible to apply as a team for a day-long,
all-expense-paid (max $850/person) FLIP training workshop
at the Children's Museum of Houston on May 18, 2011, one day
prior to the Association of Children's Museums' annual conference,
InterActivity
2011.
Ten teams will be selected and will be among
the first implementation cities. After May 18, other museums
and libraries will be invited to purchase FLIP plans and manuals
for a nominal fee.
Eligibility
Applications for the National Training and
Implementation Workshop will be accepted from collaborating
U.S. Museums and Libraries that are committed to implementing
the FLIP Project in their community. These organizations must
be active members of their respective professional organizations:
either the Association of Children's Museums or the Association
for Library Service to Children.
FLIP
is a multi-lingual interactive learning program designed
by the Childrens Museum of Houston in partnership
with Houston Public Library and the University of Texas
Childrens Learning Institute.
Major
funding for the initiative has been provided by the Institute
of Museum and Library Services.
